Conference Co-Chair – Shankar Krishnan

Shankar works as a Product Leader at Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a focus on AI/ML. His work at AWS focusses on building products that generate ML-powered insights from multi-modal conversations. He has 15+ years of experience in the AI/ML space having worked at companies such as IBM, Infosys, Red Hat and startups such as Lightspeed commerce.

Conference Co-Chair – Joseph Campbell

Dr. Joseph P. Campbell, an IEEE Life Fellow, is a Laboratory Fellow at MIT Lincoln Laboratory (MIT LL) specializing in artificial intelligence technologies for national security. Since joining MIT LL in 2001, he has led groups advancing human language technology, deep learning for cyber analytics, and operational evaluation methods, delivering significant mission impact for U.S. government applications. His leadership has extended to major programs in forensic speaker recognition, biometrics, big data analytics, and technologies for combating human trafficking, with innovations transitioned to operational use by the U.S. government.

An active IEEE volunteer, Dr. Campbell has served as a distinguished lecturer, editor, and officer in multiple IEEE roles, and currently co-chairs MIT LL’s Professional Societies Committee. He has authored more than 120 publications with over 8,000 citations, holds a U.S. patent, and has led multiple U.S. Federal and NATO speech-coding standards. His technical leadership has been recognized with MIT LL’s highest honor, the Technical Excellence Award, and numerous national awards in biometrics and speech processing.

Technical Program Chair (TPC) – Riddhiben Shah

Riddhi Shah is a Senior Software Engineer at Vicor, bringing her expertise to the world of technology. Originally from India, she earned her Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her research focus is on driving integration of AI and ML solutions in semiconductor manufacturing to enhance yield and fault detection processes. As a dedicated advocate for women in STEM and IEEE member, Riddhi actively mentors aspiring female engineers, sharing her experiences and knowledge to inspire the next generation.

Maira Marques Samary Headshot

Local Conference Chair – Maira Marques Samary

Maira is currently an Assistant Professor at Boston College, where she teaches CS1, CS2, SE and CS Principles. Her research interests include computer science education, collaborative work and software engineering education. She received an MS and PhD in computer science from the University of Chile, and an M.Ed. from Boston College.

Maira is the Past Chair of the IEEE Boston Section and has served as the Chair of IEEE Boston’s Women in Engineering (WIE) since 2019. You can also find Maira running to support Dana Farber in the Boston Marathon.

Speaker Program Chair (Keynotes & Panel Sessions) – Shuyue Jia (Bruce)

Shuyue Jia (Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree from Northeast Electric Power University, Jilin, China, in 2020, and the M.Phil. degree in computer science from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2023. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering with Boston University, Boston, MA, USA. In the summer of 2017, he was a Visiting Student at the University of California at Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA. His current research interests include multimodal foundation models, e.g., multimodal large language models (MLLMs), large language models (LLMs), and medical AI.

Workshops and Exhibitions Chair – Narayanan Murugan

Narayanan Murugan received his B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai in 2017 and his M.S in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 2023. He is currently a Senior Digital Design Engineer in Analog Devices. He is also an IEEE member and has been volunteering with IEEE since 2023. His technical interests include computer architecture, signal processing and hardware design.

Publications Chair – Soheli Farhana

Dr. Soheli Farhana lends her expertise to the prestigious Harvard University, where she continues to push the boundaries of nanoelectronics and semiconductor devices. Her journey, however, began long before, traversing through esteemed institutions and ground-breaking research. Prior to her tenure at Harvard, Dr. Farhana served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kuala Lumpur, imparting her knowledge and passion for two transformative years in AI. Before that, she dedicated herself to the pursuit of innovation as a Postdoctoral Fellow, developing cutting-edge Nanosensors that hold the potential to revolutionize various industries. Dr. Farhana’s academic prowess was recognized early when she was awarded the coveted Gold Medal and the prestigious Best PhD Award in 2016 for her pioneering research on Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistors. Dr. Farhana has been an active Senior Member of the IEEE for over a decade, contributing her expertise and vision to this esteemed professional organization.

Publicity Chair – Nikunj Doshi 

Nikunj Doshi is a Tech Consultant and has a perfect blend of experience and expertise both in the field of Technology and Consulting. He hails from Mumbai, India and professionally working in Boston. He pursued Masters in Information System from Northeastern University and before that he pursued PGDM MBA from University of Mumbai. His core expertise lies in the research advancements in AI, Cloud and ML in the Technology sector. Being a passionate member of IEEE, he inspires and mentors professionals and engineers with his knowledge and wisdom leading to success.

Local Conference Committee Chair / Volunteer Chair – Gim Soon Wan

Soon Wan has been an active and influential member and volunteer of the IEEE community, particularly within IEEE Region 1 (US Northeastern) and Boston Section. His dedication to fostering student engagement and professional development is evident through his leadership roles and contributions to various student activities. As the Region 1 Student Activities Chair, Soon Wan played a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational and practical experiences of IEEE student members. One of Soon’s major contribution is to instrument in promoting the Micromouse Competition, a prestigious event that challenges students to design, build, and program autonomous robotic mice to navigate a maze. Soon also spearheaded the organization of Drone and Robotics Workshops at many IEEE Student Branches and Student Conferences. Currently, Soon is a board member on the IEEE Education Activities Board where he contributes to the development and implementation of educational programs and policies that support IEEE’s mission to advance technology for humanity. His insights and experiences from working closely with students and young professionals help shape initiatives that foster lifelong learning and professional growth.
